MY GEAR
CANON EOS 80D
A staple of my camera collection since the start of 2023, the Canon EOS 80D is a powerful and versatile DSLR. I purchased this camera second-hand in near-perfect condition with two lenses for a fraction of the cost of a brand-new model. The fast-action focus modes and low light capabilities have been incredibly beneficial during concerts and portrait shoots.
SONY A6300
A newer addition to my concert photography kit, the Sony a6300 with its Sigma 30mm f1/1.4 lens has been incredibly useful under extremely low light. The compact, lightweight nature of the camera has made it incredibly useful for a grab-and-go shooter. Additionally, it's filming capabilities have come in handy while capturing video both in-concert and externally.
CANON AE-1
Arguably on of the greatest 35mm film cameras ever made, the AE-1 has served as a fantastic introduction to the world of film photography. Having purchased this camera second hand in 2022, I have taken it as a secondary 'experimental' camera to many concerts and events, and have had some nice architecture shots out of it since.
CANON EF 50mm F/1.8
The forever classic 'nifty fifty'. This simple and compact lens served as my daily lens choice for nearly a year. Challenging me to take photographs from a fixed zoom, this lens greatly expanded my composition creativity while providing some incredible low-light capabilities at a surprisingly low cost. Notably, there have been occasions at concerts or events where this has served as my only lens!
SIGMA 30mm F/1.4
Practically a magic lens when in low light situations (see: most concerts), this lens can truly see in the dark. There have been many instances where this lens -paired with the already impressive low light capabilities of the Sony a6300 - has captured images brighter than what the human eye can see.
SIGMA EX DC OS HSM 17-50mm F/2.8
One of the newest lenses in my collection, the Sigma 17-50mm has served as a superb low-light wide angle lens for concerts and portraits. Featuring an optical stabilizer and exceptionally quick focus time, the lens has been an incredible asset, especially when paired with the equally capable Canon 80D.
SIGMA FD 50mm F/1.8 (CANON)
One of two lenses used with my Canon AE-1 film camera. This lens is identical in both function and final result to that of my standard Canon EF 50mm lens used with my digital cameras.
PENTAX-A 70-200mm F/4.0 ZOOM (CANON)
One of two lenses used with my Canon AE-1 film camera. This lens has helped produce some high quality, surprisingly crisp photographed, and has been used at concerts and in street photography.
PENTAX ESPIO 105WR
One of the many point-and-shoot 35mm film cameras recently added to my collection, the Pentax Espio 105WR remains untested.
CANON SURE SHOT Z115 CAPTION
One of the many point-and-shoot 35mm film cameras recently added to my collection, the Canon Sure Shot Z155 Caption remains untested, though the function of including a pre-set caption in film photographs adds a creative feature that I look forward to experimenting with.
VIVATAR VISTATELE TELE-WIDE PANORAMA
One of the many point-and-shoot 35mm film cameras recently added to my collection, the Vivatar VistaTele Tele-Wide Panorama remains untested.
FUIJIFILM CLEAR SHOT 10 AUTO
One of the many point-and-shoot 35mm film cameras recently added to my collection, the Fuijifilm Clear Shot 10 Auto remains untested.
CANON SURE SHOT OWL
One of the many point-and-shoot 35mm film cameras recently added to my collection, the Canon Sure Shot Owl is currently being tested.
PANASONIC LUMIX DMC FX2
The only digital point-and-shoot camera in my recently acquired collection, the Panasonic Lumix DMC FX2 is currently being tested.
VIVATAR MACRO ZOOM 70-210mm (PENTAX)
One of the two Pentax lenses included in a recently acquired collection. This lens remains untested as I do not yet own a compatible camera body or adapter.
PENTAX-M ZOOM 40-80mm f2.8 MACRO
The second of two Pentax lenses included in a recently acquired collection. This lens remains untested as I do not yet own a compatible camera body or adapter.
